Lefteris Petrounias emerged supreme on Saturday claiming the gold medal in the
gymnastics world championships in Glasgow Scotland.
Petrounias celebrated his win by dedicating his gold medal to his
father, who passed away a few weeks ago. The Greek athlete overcame his rivals
with a 15,800 score.
His success in Glasgow means that he secured a place in
the upcoming Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games.
The 24 year old had won the gold medal at the European Championships in
Montpellier back in April among other successes this past year. The Greek
strong man has won 11 out of the 12 competitions he has participated in in
2015.
