Adelaide United and Newcastle Jets fail to fire at Coopers Stadium

Adelaide United and Newcastle Jets have played out the second consecutive stalemate in Round 7 in a match that will leave both sides disappointed they didn’t take three points on Sunday.
Guillermo Amor’s side were searching for their first win of the season after being just the fifth team in A-League history to take just two points from their opening six matches.
Meanwhile the Jets were out to remedy the record  7-0 thrashing they received in this corresponding fixture last season.
There were five starting players coming up against their former clubs to ensure there was some extra feeling in this one.
Nigel Boogaard, Cameron Watson and Mark Birighitti all use to call Coopers Stadium home, while Craig Goodwin and Tarek Elrich were both formerly on the Jets books.

    TEAMS
Adelaide United: Galekovic (gk)(c), Marrone, McGowan, Malik (Elsey 7’), Elrich, Isaias, Mells (Carrusca 75’), Jeggo, Goodwin, Cirio, Djite (Kamau 65’)
Newcastle Jets: Birighitti (gk), Hoffman, Boogaard (c) (Kitto 82’), Jackson, Lee, Watson, Kantarovski, Poljak, Carney, Trifunovic (Crowley 87’), Alivodic
