JESS BIBBY BREAKS WNBL GAMES RECORD

University of Canberra Capitals' guard Jess Bibby will break the WNBL all-time games played record  on Saturday night night, hitting the court for the 378th time and eclipsing the previous record held by Lucille Bailie and Rachael Sporn.

Now in her 18th season, Bibby began her WNBL career in 1996 with the Dandenong Rangers, winning the Rookie of the Year Award at the age of 16. She spent nine seasons with the Rangers before joining the Capitals in 2006.

Bibby has won five WNBL Championships - two with Dandenong in 2004 and 2005, and three with the Capitals in 2007, 2009 and 2010.

In 2000, Bibby plied her trade in the WNBA, representing the New York Liberty for one season before persistent back injuries dashed her international dream.

Across her WNBL career, the 169cm guard averages 11.9 points per game, with her best output being in the 2007/08 season where she averaged 15.7 points per game including shooting 83.9 per cent from the free throw line.

This season, Bibby averages 6.3 points per game with her best performance coming against the Sydney Uni Flames in round two finishing with 11 points and three rebounds.
