Liverpool will appoint
Jurgen Klopp as their new manager on Thursday, according to the BBC.
Earlier reports had
suggested that Klopp would arrive on Merseyside tomorrow for final talks ahead
of a possible unveiling on Friday.
But the information
coming out of the BBC this evening indicates that the Reds will confirm the
former Borussia Dortmund boss as Brendan Rodgers’ successor tomorrow.
Rodgers was sacked
last Sunday following the 1-1 Merseyside derby draw with Everton. He had been
in charge of the Reds since June 2012.
Klopp has been out of
work since the end of last season, when he stepped down as Dortmund manager.
The 48-year-old had
been at the helm since 2008 and led the club to two Bundesliga titles and a
Champions League final.
He left with a 56.29
per cent win ratio, compared to Rodgers’ 50 per cent win ration at the end of
his 166 games in charge of the Reds
