Australia
international Tom Rogic capped off his first competitive start for Celtic in
two years with a smashing goal as the Bhoys defeated Partick Thistle 2-0 on
Sunday.
The
22-year-old opened the scoring on 28 minutes smashing home from inside the box
to give the Scottish champions a 1-0 lead at Firhill.
The Canberra
talent almost made it 2-0 ten minutes later with a shot from distance that went
over the bar.
Chris Commons
doubled the Hoops' lead in the second half to make it two wins from two in the
Ladbrokes Premiership for Celtic.
Rogic played
for 63 minutes before being subbed off.
After injury
woes kept the talented attacking midfielder out of contention for selection at
Celtic, his return is welcome news for the club and the Australian national
team.
He was close
to being selected for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil for the Socceroos, but
injury curtailed his campaign.
Rogic’s last
competitive game for Celtic was in September 2013 in a Scottish League Cup tie.
His last game for Australia was against Ecuador in early 2014 in London.
