Perth Glory have signed Dutch striker Guyon Fernandez for
the upcoming A-League season.
Fernandez joins Glory after playing the majority of his
career in the Eredivisie - the top division in the Netherlands.
The 29-year-old scored seven goals in 29 appearances for
Dutch powerhouse Feyenoord, while he also featured for NAC Breda, Excelsior and
PEC Zwolle.
Fernandez's arrival fills the void left by Andy Keogh, who
left the club in the wake of last season's salary cap dramas.
Glory were also boosted by the signing of Spaniard Diego
Castro, who has been lured to Perth as an international marquee.
Glory coach Kenny Lowe said the arrival of Fernandez would
be a big boost for his young side.
"I'm sure he will come in and inject some real quality
into our final third - that's why we've signed him," Glory Lowe said.
"I'm looking forward to seeing him link up with Diego
(Castro) when he comes in."
Fernandez will arrive in Perth to begin training with his
new team mates in the coming month.
