Albania says it has been awarded a victory over Serbia by
the top sports court after successfully challenging UEFA sanctions over a match
that was abandoned when a drone with a political banner flew into the stadium.
Governing body UEFA had ordered Albania to forfeit the
European Championship qualifier, which took place in Serbia in October.
Serbia were given a 3-0 default win but were then deducted
three points and ordered to host two qualifiers in an empty stadium.
But Albania federation spokesman Tritan Kokona told AP on
Friday his country had been awarded a 3-0 victory by the Court of Arbitration
for Sport (CAS).
There was no immediate confirmation from CAS.
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama wrote on Facebook.
"That is European justice! 3 points for the Red-and-Black National Team in
Belgrade".
