Udinese earned an impressive 2-1 friendly win away to Panathinaikos on Duvan Zapata’s debut.
The Friulani secured a shock victory in Greece, even though star striker Antonio Di Natale was rested.
Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring after nine minutes, lobbing the goalkeeper from a splendid long Ali Adnan pass.
Wemmer and Cyril Thereau went close before Marcus Berg pounced on a Simone Scuffet error to equalise.
Zapata should’ve put Udinese back in front moments later, but fired straight at the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation.
The victory was decided by Uruguayan forward Rodrigo Aguirre with another delightful chip.
Silvan Widmer almost made it 3-1 for Udinese, but his daisy-cutter skimmed the upright, while Lod nodded over in the final minute.
