The Greek Motorsport Federation (OMAE) has confirmed that the Acropolis Rally will run in October despite the very difficult political and financial situation in Greece at the moment.
The Greek governing body have been working tirelessly over recent months in a bid to keep the event at international level. The 2015 event will run in a condensed format, allowing the OMAE to prepare the 2016 edition. The event also officially returns to its traditional title of the Acropolis Rally, replacing the name Rally of Greece.
“We believe that together, the State, Federation, Organisations and Sponsors will contribute to the successful organisation of the Acropolis Rally, which will once again show our country at international level.” said President of the OMAE, Dimitris Michelakakis.
The Acropolis Rally will run October 9-11 and will count as round nine of the 2015 FIA European Rally Championship. The 2014 event was won by current ERC leader Craig Breen and Scott Martin.
