THE Wanderers snapped their six-game winless streak with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over the Mariners despite goalkeeper Jerrad Tyson being sent off in Gosford.
Fortunately for the Wanderers, Tyson's 60th-minute red card came after the side had already built a 3-1 lead.
The Mariners had struck the first blow when Blake Powell netted in the fifth minute, but it was immediately cancelled out by Jumpei Kusukami's equaliser a minute later.
Nicolas Martinez nodded home a Mitch Nichols cross in the 31st minute to ensure the visitors went to half-time with a lead, but the pain increased for the Mariners after the break.
In the 50th minute, Wanderers defender Scott Neville tried a cross, but Jake McGing, in his desperation to intercept the pass, put the ball in the back of his own net.
Ten minutes later Tyson took down a goal-bound Trent Buhagiar and earned himself a straight red, but the remaining 10 Wanderers were able to hold the fort and even add another through Brendon Santalab three minutes from time.
The evening started on a sombre note, with Central Coast Stadium falling silent to honour the death of 19 members of Brazilian team Real Chapocoense in a Colombian plane crash.
