Noel Gallagher's Oasis 'Half The World Away' will feature on John Lewis Christmas advert

Oasis' 'Half the World Away' will reportedly feature on the John Lewis Christmas advert.
The wistful hit has reportedly been chosen by the department store for their 2015 festive campaign but will not be sang by the former band's frontman Noel Gallagher.
Instead, the retail giant has plucked a young Norwegian singer/songwriter named Aurora from obscurity to record the tune, which is well known as the theme tune of the BBC comedy 'The Royle Family'.
Nevertheless, songwriter Noel, 48, will reportedly rake in thousands of pounds in royalties after the advert launches across TV and online platforms at 8 am tomorrow (06.11.15
While no hints have been given about the advert's storyline, the blonde beauty, 22 - who is signed to Decca Records and has 11,000 followers on Twitter - is apparently "perfect" for the festive tune.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The bosses at John Lewis have spent months choosing who will be their voice of Christmas.
"There have been lots of options and the process has been kept top secret. Even though Aurora is a complete unknown, they felt her quirky voice is perfect for the song.
"There were initially some discussions about the song being a cover of Steve Winwood's 'Higher Love', but the Oasis track won out."
Meanwhile, a representative for John Lewis refused to confirm that Noel's track is in fact being used for the advert.
Lily Allen and Tom Odell are among stars who have previously recorded soundtracks for John Lewis campaigns.
