Sassuolo are reportedly set to make an approach for Fulham’s
Greek striker Konstantinos Mitroglou.
The Neroverdi are searching for a replacement for Simone
Zaza who returned to parent-club Juventus following his loan spell at the Mapei
Stadium last season, and the Greece international is said to be keen to leave
England.
According to the Gazzetta Dello Sport, the 27-year-old who
has made only three appearances since joining the London club in January 2014,
would prefer a move to Italy or Spain.
Mitroglou spent 2014/15 on loan to former club Olympiakos,
scoring sixteen times in twenty-four matches, as the Piraeus outfit won the
Greek Superleague.
Sassuolo comfortably avoided relegation from Italy’s top
flight last season and are ambitiously seeking to bring in a strike partner for
the club’s top scorer, Domenico Berardi.
The Italian scored fifteen goals in 2014/15 as part of a
deadly partnership with fellow international Zaza.
