    Michael Zullo joins Melbourne City

Melbourne City have further strengthened their squad for the coming A-League season, signing Australian international Michael Zullo on a one-year deal.
The 26-year-old left back, who started his career playing further forward, has signed for City after a four-year stint at Dutch Eredivisie side FC Utrecht, interrupted by a year-long loan spell at Adelaide United.
Snared alongside ex-Brisbane teammates Tommy Oar and Adam Sarota for a combined sum of around $2 million, Zullo found his time at Utrecht hampered by injuries, including a severe knee issue. City coach John van ‘t Schip said Zullo could reignite his career at the club.
“We know Michael’s potential,” said van ‘t Schip.
“He has spent time with a big club in Holland and with the Socceroos so we expect him to be an important member of the squad.”
Zullo could potentially make his debut for Melbourne City against ‘big brothers’ and English Premier League powerhouses Manchester City in Saturday’s friendly match on the Gold Coast. He will wear the No.11 shirt for the club
