Nick Kyrgios is
the form player of the new International Premier Tennis League season,
disposing of two top-15 opponents in as many nights.
Playing in
Kobe, Japan, for the Singapore Slammers, Kyrgios has beaten Tomas Berdych and
Milos Raonic.
In the altered-format
exhibition series competition, Kyrgios defeated world No.6 Berdych 6-2 before
backing up on Thursday night to beat Raonic 6-4.
Kyrgios hit
more aces than both men despite their reputations as two of the ATP tour's
biggest serves.
Earlier this week,
Australian Open tournament director Craig Tiley spoke of his high hopes for
Kyrgios in 2016.
Kyrgios
responded on Twitter saying "I'll be damned, something positive, smh
(shaking my head)".
The pair have
previously duelled over Tennis Australia's expectations of the 20-year-old, who
has risen to world No.30 and could be seeded at Melbourne Park in January.
Fellow
Australian Samantha Stosur lost to Maria Sharapova 6-4 on her IPTL sole outing
to date.
