    Former Rangers midfielder,Arnold Peralta, shot dead in native Honduras


    A Honduran soccer player was murdered in front of terrified shoppers at a local mall parking lot Thursday night, the victim of a seemingly premeditated shooting that has rocked the Central American country
    Arnold Peralta, a defensive midfielder for Club Deportivo Olimpia who earned 24 national team caps, was killed by an unknown suspect riding a motorcyle at a shopping center in his hometown of La Ceiba, Diez of Honduras reported.
    Peralta, 26, was reportedly on his way home from buying clothes for his newborn son.
    Witnesses told police that the killer said nothing to Peralta as he approached his car, pumping his victim full of bullets - including a fatal shot to the head.
    La Tribuna of Honduras reported that Peralta was with fellow soccer player Marcelo Canales, of C.D.S. Vida, at the time of the shooting.
    Peralta’s wife reportedly broke out in hysterics upon arriving at the crime scene and had to be restrained by police.
