David Alaba own goal takes gloss off Austria win

AUSTRIA captain David Alaba scored an embarrassing late own goal to take the gloss off a 2-1 win over Malta in their Euro 2016 warm-up match.
Alaba passed back to Ramazan Ozcan in the 87th minute from the edge of the area without looking, leaving the goalkeeper out of position and desperately scrambling as the ball rolled into the net on Wednesday.
Austria, who face Hungary, Portugal and Iceland in Group F at next month’s finals in France, coasted to victory after scoring twice in the opening 20 minutes.
Ireland’s preparations for Euro 2016 suffered a setback in the shape of a shock 2-1 defeat at home to modest Belarus in a warm-up game.
Ireland went into the game without Robbie Keane and Harry Arter. Mikhail Gordeychuk gave Belarus the lead in the 20th minute with a powerful drive, after being assisted by Igor Stasevich.
Things went from bad to worse for the Irish hosts when Maksim Volodko made it 2-0 on the hour after being set up by Nikolay Yanush.
