Watford are leading the race to sign Greek international
defender Jose Holebas from Roma.
Reports from Italian media source Il Tempo claim the Serie A
giants have received offers from two European clubs for the 30-year-old, who
joined Roma from Olympiakos in 2014.
Despite making over 20 first-team appearances last term, the
Giallorossi are expected to bring in a new left-back as competition for Ashley
Cole and are said to be willing to let Holebas leave for the right price.
Watford are believed to have bid for the former 1860 Munich
defender, along with an unnamed Turkish club, and SiaS understands the Hornets
are moving closer to agreeing a deal.
Meanwhile, Roma are reportedly targeting Monaco's Layvin
Kurzawa as Holebas' replacement, should the Greek ace move on.
