Tournament hosts Greece rolled to an easy83-55 victory over Korea to tip off their 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship campaign. Korea were close for about 15 minutes before Greece showed they are at a different level.
Turning Point: Up just 26-24 midway through the second quarter, Greece held Korea scoreless for five minutes and went on a 10-0 run to pull away for the first time. Korea would not threaten the rest of the way.
Stats Don't Lie: Greece out-rebounded Korea 57-30 and held the Asians to just 26 percent shooting. The home team also dished out 24 assists.
Game Hero: Georgios Papagiannis was no match for Korea as the Greek center collected 16 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks.
The Bottom Line: Greece dominated from the beginning and did not need the services of injured forward Vasilis Charalampopoulos. Korea gained some experience of playing against a big, tough European side.
