Raheem Sterling was heckled and booed as he received his award for Young Player of the Year at the Liverpool FC 2015 Player Awards at the Echo Arena.
The 20-year-old England international, who wants to leave Anfield this summer, got a hot reception as he went up on the stage to make his acceptance speech.
“I’d just like to say thank you to all my team-mates,” said Sterling before he was interrupted by a shout of ‘stay Raheem’.
Boos followed before Sterling quickly left the stage and returned to his seat.
Sterling, who has told Liverpool he has no intention of penning a new contract, beat off competition from Emre Can and Lazar Markovic to win Young Player of the Year.
The first award of the night went to Philippe Coutinho who collected the ‘Performance of the Year’ in recognition of his match-winning display against Manchester City at Anfield in March.
He beat off competition from Kolo Toure (v Real Madrid, Gerrard (v AFC Wimbledon), Jordon Ibe (v Everton) and Simon Mignolet (v Blackburn).
Coutinho said: “I just want to say thank you to everyone. To all the fans, to all my team-mates, my wife and the staff. I am very happy.”
The young Brazilian later returned to the stage to collect the Players’ Player of the Year award from Steven Gerrard.
Joao Carlos Teixeira was named Academy Player of the Year after his successful spell on loan at Brighton. He is currently recovering from a broken leg.
