Just a week after he was voted best afield in Melbourne
Victory's grand final win, Mark Milligan could be set to leave the A-League
club.
The Socceroos midfielder and Victory captain has been linked
with a move to the Middle East after a terrific A-League campaign.
It's not the first time Milligan has caught the eye of
Middle Eastern suitors, with Victory successfully playing hardball with United
Arab Emirates club Baniyas twice in the past two years.
Victory chose not to accept a bid from Baniyas reported to
be worth $1 million in January 2014.
Now it's understood a six-figure bid has been tabled for
Milligan, 29, with Victory needing to make a decision whether to take up the
fight for his services again.
Milligan has experience playing in Asia, having played for
JEF United in Japan and Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua, which is
now home to Tim Cahill.
Baniyas could again be the club, which has not been
revealed, targeting Milligan.
Milligan won the Joe Marston Medal for his performance in the
A-League grand final, won 3-0 against Sydney FC.
