JOHN Aloisi will return to an A-League top job next season, with the former Melbourne Heart boss to be announced as Brisbane Roar coach later this week.
Frans Thijssen led side in an interim role this season as the 2013-2014 champions reached the finals before being knocked out by Adelaide in week one.
After retiring, the Socceroos legend started his coaching career soon after as youth manager at Melbourne Heart, stepping up to the top job in May 2012.
He found the going tough despite registering his first win in the Melbourne derby and the side finished ninth on his watch.
