Suspended Greek soccer leagues to restart Tuesday

Greece's soccer federation says domestic league games will recommence on Tuesday, eight days after their indefinite suspension following a suspected arson attack against a referee's home.
A federation statement late Thursday gave no explanation for the decision.
The Nov. 9 fire at an empty holiday home belonging to Giorgos Bikas caused angry reactions from the federation and Greece's left-led government, which assigned the anti-terrorism squad to the case. There has been no official announcement so far on the cause of the fire.
Greek soccer has been plagued for years by persistent fan violence and allegations of corruption and match-fixing.
The government briefly delayed the start of the top division in September, arguing that a festering squabble involving the federation, league organizers, and clubs posed serious security concerns.
