Former Tottenham midfielder Paulinho could be facing a deportation charge from China after reportedly appearing in a betting commercial alongside a popular Japanese porn star Tsukasa Aoi.
After flopping at Spurs, the Brazilian has rediscovered his form in China but The Mirror are reporting that his Asian adventure could be coming to a premature end after he agreed to endorse betting company Letou despite the fact that gambling is illegal in China.
Fifa has banned players from being involved in the betting industry, with suspensions being handed out even to those who are found to have placed bets on games not involving their own team.
Paulinho's involvement in the commercial alongside Aoi - which was apparently filmed in his home in China - is made even stranger by the fact that pornography is illegal in China.
He had been linked with a surprise move back to Europe with Bayern Munich, and any suitors will surely be able to snap him up for a reduced price if he is booted out of the country.
