    Fran Escribá to join Olympiakos

Elche manager Fran Escribá looks to be another in a long line of Spanish coaches to take over Olympiakos, as the Greeks have offered the 50-year-old a lucrative contract that will leave all the problems at Elche behind him.
Escribá has loyally stuck by Elche through their economic failures, even rallying his side to continue giving their all until the end of the season, despite not having been paid for weeks.
However, due to their economic failures, Elche were punished by administrative relegation, sending them to the Segunda despite finishing mid-table.
Due to the club’s relegation, Escriba will be allowed to break his contract without penalty and join Olympiakos on what will be a long-term deal with a far greater salary than he made at Elche.

Escriba was considered Sevilla’s first choice if Unai Emery left the club this summer, but as the Basque coach decided to extend his contract for two more years, Escriba may yet see the Champions League as Olympiakos are the only Greek team to qualify.
Escriba will join fellow Spaniards; José Segura, Ernesto Valverde and Michel as former managers of the Greek giant
