Australians Abroad: Tim Cahill scores in Shanghai win

Tim Cahill has responded to doubts over his future at Shanghai Shenhua in fine style, scoring a crucial goal in their come-from-behind win in the Chinese Super League on Saturday night.
The Socceroos superstar scored the equalizer midway through the second half as Shenhua went on to beat Liáoníng Hóngyùn 3-1.
In ttrademark Cahill style, he won a header at the far-post from a corner, powering it home at the near post before running off to celebrate with fans.

It was the 35-year-old’s second goal in 14 appearances in the league and helped them jump up to 8th on the CSL ladder.
Cahill’s camp and the club were forced to dispel rumours this week that Shanghai were trying to offload him to another club.
Elsewhere in China, ex-Melbourne Victory skipper Adrian Leijer played a full match as his Chóngqìng Lìfān beat Guǎngzhōu Fùlì 2-1.
Mitchell Duke got through 90 minutes but could do nothing to help Shimizu –Pulse against  Ventforet Kofu, as they lost 2-0 at home.
Ryan Griffiths was on the scoresheet in Malaysia as Sarawak snatched a 1-1 draw with Perak.
And in the Thai Premier League, ex-Socceroos defender Matt Smith played a full game as Bangkok Glass eased past Nakhon Ratchasima 3-1.
The comfortable home win for Bangkok has them up to second on the Thai Premier League table.
