16-1 Ronaldo pays the penalty in Portugal draw

CRISTIANO RONALDO has been shoved out to 16-1 by Paddy Power to be crowned the Euro 2016 top goalscorer after his miserable tournament continued in Portugal’s 0-0 draw with Austria on Saturday.
Ronaldo saw his second-half penalty hit the post, while he also wasted other excellent opportunities to get off the mark in France but as it stands he is two goals off the top goalscorer pace with one group-stage fixture to come against surprise table-toppers Hungary.
Despite that, Ronaldo is 11-8 favourite with Hills to win the Ballon d’Or award, while Portugal are 4-7 with Sky Bet to finish on top of Group F and 1-9 with the same firm to qualify.
Austria can be backed at 11-10 to squeeze through to the last 16 and Iceland, who drew 1-1 with Hungary earlier in the day, are available at 10-11. Hungary are as short as 1-1000 and not quoted by the majority of bookmakers.
The 0-0 draw in Paris was a blow for most punters, although those who bet in a number of markets with bet365 got their cash back as part of a tournament bore draw concession with the firm reporting £1.5m returned on Saturday.
However, they were happy to do so after fielding a lot of bets for the Belgium-Portugal double which had one leg in the bag after the Red Devils thumped Ireland 3-0.
Portugal are 22-1 with Ladbrokes to win Euro 2016 and Austria are generally available at 125-1. Hungary and Iceland are both being quoted at 200-1.
