    Rio Olympics: Shooter Anna Korakaki Wins First Medal for Greece

    Anna Korakaki won the first medal for Greece in the Olympic Games in Rio. Αnna Korakaki took the bronze medal at the 10m air pistol final and the first for Greece in the Olympic shooting competition since 1920 when the Greek national team won the silver medal in Antwerp. 
    This is the first Olympic Games for the athlete from Drama. Going to Rio prepared was difficult but thanks to her father and coach, Tasos, Korakaki’s patience and discipline was rewarded. She won the bronze medal with a score of 177.7 degrees, the gold medal was won by Mengkxoue Zhang (China) 199.4 (Olympic record) and the silver Vitalina Batsaraskina (Russia) with 197.1.
