A Nanny who murdered a four-year-old girl and paraded her severed head along a Moscow street changed after meeting a new mystery man, it has emerged.
Gulchekhra Bobokulova started wearing a hijab and praying in her room after hooking up with a man 18 months ago.
Bobokulova killed little Nastya Meshcheryakova after stabbing her in the neck and then cutting off her head in a grisly crime which has shocked the world.
Horrifying pictures of her wearing a hijab and shouting "Allahu Akbar" as she clutched Nastya's head were beamed around the globe.
Now a relative of Nastya’s family said Bobokulova – who was known as Gulya – had a complete personality change after meeting and marrying the man 18 months ago.
The friend said: “Gulya seriously changed after this.
“She started wearing hijab, she began to pray in her room.
“Before she was never religious, she wore ordinary clothes, sports clothes, shirts.
“But when she left the flat, she always put on a hijab.
“I know she was arguing with her new husband on phone very often recently.
“The day before the murder they had a particularly loud argument that Katya even asked Gulya to slow down.”
The relative added that Nastya's mother Ekaterina - or Katya as she was called - treated the change “with understanding” as it was “Gulya's religion”.
The news emerged as police in Moscow revealed that although Bobokulova murdered the child, she was not alone, and may have been radicalised by a man who was present at the Meshcheryakova’s flat on Monday at around 8.40am when Nastya was slaughtered.
Detectives are investigating whether the crime was planned by someone with links to the Islamic State (ISIS) where jihadis revel in their savagery with public beheadings a regular occurrence in the group’s defacto capital of Raqqa in Syria.
The little girl's father, Vladimir Mesheryakov, said there were “no words to describe the feeling of hatred, weakness and helplessness” his family felt.
He said: “Everyone, perhaps, knows about our terrible grief.
“There are no words to describe the feeling of hatred, weakness and helplessness.
“There is no way to understand the insanity that surrounds our world but I am sure that there are people who went through something similar - and I am grieving for Nastya with them.
Bobokulova grinned as she appeared before a Moscow court and when asked if she wanted the parents of the girl to forgive her, she replied: "I will ask nobody. Only Allah.”
Waving at journalists, Bobokulova said: “Hi to everyone.
“Allah is sending a second prophet to give news of peace.”
The 38-year-old mother-of-three also complained that she was hungry and said she would “die in a week”.
Moscow police said they are urgently seeking the nanny's boyfriend or unofficial husband named as 46-year-old Mamur Dzhirakulov.
A police investigator told the court: “The accomplices of the suspect, or we better say the instigators, are currently at large.”
The dead child is said to have had learning difficulties and could not walk properly.
Her parents had taken her to China for treatment, and were saving money to travel for subsequent care in Germany.
She had a 15-year-old brother and her family from the Oryol region were renting the apartment where she was killed.
Her mother - named locally as Ekaterina Meshcheryakov - reportedly works at a wedding shop while her father is understood to be a technician at a mobile phone company.
The child's mother was taken to hospital after collapsing when she learned of the news
