Spanish
giants Atletico Madrid have been announced as the final side to play
in the Australian leg of the International Champions Cup in
Melbourne.
Diego
Simeone's La Liga outfit will compete against English Premier League
title contenders Tottenham, Serie A leaders Juventus and reigning
A-League champions Melbourne Victory at the MCG in July.
The
impressive line-up follows on from last year's inaugural instalment
featuring Real Madrid, Roma and Manchester City.
Atletico
is Spain's third-most successful club behind Barcelona and Real
Madrid, with 10 La Liga titles and 10 Copa Del Rays among their
silverware.
They
also won the Europa League in 2010 and 2012 and made the 2014 UEFA
Champions League final.
The
announcement follows the club's 1-0 win in the Madrid derby, which
all-but ended the title hopes of Zinedine Zidane's team and kept
Atletico hot on the heels of La Liga leaders Barcelona.
The
club features a raft of stars including French attacking talent
Antoine Griezmann, Tiago Mendes, Koke and Fernando Torres, though he
is only on loan from AC Milan.
Simeone
said the competition would form a key part of Atletico's pre-season
training program.
