Zinedine Zidane replaces sacked Rafa Benitez as Real Madrid manager

Real Madrid has made a move at manager. The club has let go of manager Rafa Benitez and will replace him with club legend Zinedine Zidane, it announced on Monday afternoon.
The club has looked very good in Champions League play, but sitting third in the league at the moment and being disqualified from the Copa del Rey for fielding an ineligible player has resulted in his departure. As of Monday morning, the club had not announced anything.
The team is coming off a 2-2 draw at Valencia on Sunday, where Gareth Bale scored late in the match only to see Paco Alcacer level the score seconds later. The club had won its two previous matches in the league, including a 10-2 result over Rayo Vallecano.
Benitez joined Real Madrid from Napoli in the summer. A legendary coach at Valencia and Liverpool, he also coached Chelsea and Inter Milan.
Zidane, 43, was a Real Madrid assistant coach in 2013-14. He has led Real Madrid Castilla, the B team, this season where he coached his highly touted son, Enzo Zidane.
