Wester Sydney Wanderers held by Adelaide at Pirtek

Western Sydney Wanderers have been held to a goalless draw by Adelaide United in an entertaining start to 2016 for the Hyundai A-League at Pirtek Stadium on Friday night.
While there were no goals, there were plenty of chances – and a tinge of controversy – with both sides denied what looked good shouts for a penalty in the first half.
Both goalkeepers were called on to make crucial saves to ensure their sides would take a point and continue their unbeaten runs.
The Wanderers have now gone 10 games without defeat to remain at the top of the table, while Adelaide missed the chance to jump into the top six but are now unbeaten in their last five games.
Both sides are on the road next weekend, with the Wanderers travelling to Melbourne City while Adelaide makes the trip to Perth Glory.
